Were you sure that all the students checked their papers after they were completed? I had a plenty of fellows, who never did such a thing.  They usually wrote down the last word, closed the .doc file then, and thought that they went through all the necessary stages. But I was sure that everybody, who wanted his essay to be really good, should reread the text not once. If he had no desire to do this, it was possible to find an essay editing service and the problem would be solved.
